BNN dan IWO kerjasama cegah dan berantas narkoba
IWO Kota Manado foto bersama Kepala BNNP Sulut Brigjen Pol Utomo Heru Cahyono.
MANADO, BERITASULUT.CO.ID – Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) Provinsi Sulawesi Utara (Sulut) menggandeng Ikatan Wartawan Online (IWO) untuk melakukan pencegahan dan pemberantasan korupsi melalui media online.
Langkah awal yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggelar Forum Komunikasi Anti Narkoba Berbasis Media Online bagi Netizen, dihadiri IWO Provinsi Sulut dan IWO Kota Manado, yang digelar di salah satu cafe di Jalan Dr Sutomo, Manado, Jumat 19 Oktober 2018 sore, sekaligus dengan perkenalan Kepala BNNP Sulut yang baru, Brigjen Pol Drs Utomo Heru Cahyono MSi.
Dikatakan Cahyono, cepat atau lambat Indonesia termasuk di dalamnya Sulut, harus terbebas dari narkoba, dan itu diupayakan lewat program Pencegahan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan dan Peredaran Gelap Narkoba (P4GN).
“Ada lima cara Indonesia harus terbebas dari narkoba yang dilakukan BNN, yakni pencegahan, pemberdayaan masyarakat, rehabilitasi, hukum dan kerjasama, serta pemberantasan,” ujar Cahyono.
Untuk itu, BNN melihat potensi media online saat ini sangat tepat menjadi sarana dalam pencegahan dan pemberantasan narkoba.
“Kita akan terus bekerjasama dengan media, khususnya media online, agar pemberantasan narkoba cepat dilakukan. Media online yang begitu cepat memberitakan, kiranya membantu BNN,” tukas mantan Atase Kepolisian RI pada Kedutaan Besar RI di Filipina ini.
Cahyono juga mengurai UU Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 tentang Narkoba. Dikatakannya, mengapa Indonesia termasuk Sulut rentan pengedaran narkoba. Ada beberapa faktor.
“Pertama kondisi geografis Indonesia yang sangat luas, darat dan laut. Kedua kurangnya sinergi dengan pemangku tugas yang lain. Ketiga karena memiliki kekayaan alam berlimpah. Keempat perkembangan jaringan lebih cepat daripada perkembangan penegak hukum. Kelima karena pelabuhan sebagai pintu masuk dan jalur lundup memanfaatkan kelengahan sistem,” ungkap jenderal bintang satu ini.
Cahyono juga tak menapik kalau Indonesia saat ini masuk kategori darurat narkoba. Untuk itu sekali lagi dirinya mengatakan bahwa media online sangat perlu untuk pencegahan dan pemberantasan narkoba, khususnya di Sulut.
“Sulut secara geografis memiliki banyak pulau, dan ada daerah kepulauan yang sulit dijangkau, apalagi di daerah terluar. Sulut adalah salah satu daerah yang potensi masuk peredaran narkoba karena. Nah peran media online di sini penting supaya masyarakat yang jarang dijangkau secara fisik bisa terjangkau dengan pemberitaan media online,” jelas Cahyono.
Sementara itu, Kepala Bidang Kabid Pencehagan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (P2M) BNNP Sulut Sam Reppy, menjelaskan tentang Instruksi Presiden Nomor 6 Tahun 2018 tentang Rencana Aksi Nasional Pencegahan dan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan dan Peredaran Gelap Narkotika dan Prekusor Narkotika tahun 2018-2019.
“Presiden tegas soal pemberantasan narkoba. Bahkan Presiden menginstruksikan, jika undang-undang memungkinkan, tembak pengedar narkoba,” tandas Reppy.
Pertemuan BNNP Sulut dan IWO Sulut dan IWO Manado ini pun menghasilkan beberapa poin penting dari hasil dialog yang dilakukan.(DONWU)
