MANADO, BERITASULUT.CO.ID – Himbauan demi himbauan yang disampaikan pemerintah agar warga tidak membakar sampah sembarangan di musim kemarau ini, rupanya belum juga diindahkan sebagian warga.
Buktinya apa yang terjadi Kamis (5/9/2019) pagi ini. Seorang kakek di Kelurahan Ranomuut, tepatnya di lingkungan VI Liwas, pagi-pagi di saat warga lain mulai menuju tempat kerja dan sibuk mengantar anak sekolah, kakek ini sibuk bakar sampah di lahan kosong samping rumahnya.
Sampah yang dibakar tidak banyak, hanya saja sekitarnya banyak rumput, daun dan ranting kering. Saat api lokasi pembakaran sampah ditinggal, tak berapa lamila api kemudian merembet dan membakar rumput dan daun kering di sekitar. Angin yang cukup kencang pagi ini membuat api cepat membesar.
Akibatnya, rumah milik oknum kakek dan rumah lainnya di sekitar lokasi lebakaran lahan nyaris terbakar. Apalagi ranting-ranting pohon banyak yang sudah kering. Oknum kakek pun kelihatan panik, karena apa yang dilakukannya nyaris membuat petaka.
Warga sekitar maupun yang melintas di jalan Lengkong Wuaya tersebut mencoba memadamkan api dengan peralatan seadanya, sambil menunggu petugas pemadam kebakaran (damkar) dari Dinas Damkar Kota Manado yang sudah dihubungi. Tak lama berselang, mobil damkar tiba dan melakukan penyiraman api.
Kepala Lingkungan VI Ranomuut, Meirilyn Nerpiol yang berada di lokasi kembali menghimbau warga agar tidak membakar sampah sembarangan di musim kemarau ini.
“Sekali lagi, jangan bakar sampah sebarangan. Biarpun banyak daun dan rumput kering kalau di lahan kosong biarkan saja. Jangan dibakar,” ujar Pala Merlin, sapaanya.
Walikota Manado DR GS Vicky Lumentut (GSVL) melalui Kadis Damkar M Sofyan AP MSi tak henti-hentinya menghimbau warga agar tidak melakukan aktivitas pembakaran hutan dan lahan.
“Diminta dengan sangat agar warga tidak melakukan pembakaran lahan atau hutan, karena musim dan cuaca saat ini sangat rentan terhadap terjadinya kebakaran yang bisa menimbulkan kerugian materi bahkan bisa mengancam keselamatan jiwa,” ujar Kadis Sofyan.
Mantan Camat Tikala dan Camat Wenang ini kemudian mengajak kerjasama para Camat, Lurah, hingga Kepala Lingkungan agar menghimbau warga di wilayah masing-masih untuk tidak membakar lahan termasuk sampah sembarangan.
“Cuaca ini rentan terjadi kebakaran. Mari kita saling mengingatkan satu dengan lainnya, untuk kepentingan bersama. Kita cegah supaya tidak terjadi hal yang tidak diinginkan,” himbau Kadis Sofyan.(DONWU)
