Di satu sisi, Pemkot Manado siap menjadi mitra IWO Manado, dan mengharapkan bisa membuktikan bahwa pers adalah pilar bangsa. ”Jadilah wartawan yang mempunyai prinsip dan santun serta bertutur kata yang baik, dan memberitakan sesuatu sesuai fakta,” ucap Kabag Steven.
Dikatakan pula, untuk mencapai keberhasilan dan kesuksesan pembangunan tanpa adanya hubungan yang baik dengan media, maka tidak akan terekspos dan diketahui publik.
“Rekan-rekan dalam bekerja supaya tetap menjunjung tinggi kode etik jurnalistik serta balance dalam pemberitaan,” tukas pria yang sebelum menjadi PNS, berprofesi sebagai wartawan ini.
Selain itu, dirinya juga berpesan agar IWO Kota Manado menjadikan sebuah berita itu sebagai bentuk masukan dan saran, kritik, serta kontrol untuk kerja lebih baik. Kabag Steven juga ikut menyaksikan deklarasi “Torang IWO Manado ANTI-HOAX” usai pelaksanaan Rakerda I.
