MANADO, BERITASULUT.CO.ID – Manado Fiesta 2018 tinggal sepekan lagi digelar. Karenanya, jelang perhelatan akbar iven pariwisata itu, Walikota Manado DR Ir GS Vicky Lumentut SH MSi DEA mengajak dan menghimbau seluruh komponen masyarakat untuk bersama membersihkan pantai dan laut Kota Manado dari sampah.
Ajakan itu dikatakan Walikota yang akrab disapa GSVL itu saat bertatap muka dengan organisasi kemasyarakatan, organisasi kepemudaan serta petugas kebersihan dalam acara Bakti Sosial Pembersihan Tepi Pantai dan Laut, di gedung Youth Center, Jumat (23/08/2018) pagi.
Menurut orang nomor satu di Manado itu, iven Manado Fiesta diperkirakan akan dihadiri ribuan tamu tidak hanya dari Indonesia namun dari berbagai penjuru dunia. Olehnya, sebagai tuan rumah penyelenggaraan acara tahunan pariwisata Manado tersebut, kota ini harus bersih dan bebas dari sampah termasuk di pantai dan laut.
“Saat Manado Fiesta nanti, kita akan kedatangan banyak sekali tamu, baik dari Indonesia maupun tamu-tamu mancanegara. Kota kita harus bersih, termasuk pantai dan laut kita harus bersih. Saat pembukaan Manado Fiesta 2018, tidak hanya karnaval di darat saja tetapi ada atraksi di udara dan laut. Di laut ada atraksi jet sky, perahu naga dan perahu hias” ujar Walikota Manado, GS Vicky Lumentut.
Dirinya meminta petugas kebersihan di Kota Manado agar berkonsentrasi dalam membersihkan kota ini selama iven Manado Fiesta berlangsung 31 Agustus sampai 9 September mendatang. “Kota ini harus bersih dan bebas dari sampah selama kegiatan Manado Fiesta. Silahkan, petugas kebersihan melaksanakan tugasnya dengan sebaik mungkin membersihkan kota ini demi nama baik Kota Manado,” tandas Walikota GSVL.(dsw)
