Kadis DLH Sonny Rompas.
MANADO, BERITASULUT.CO.ID – Pemkot Manado untuk tahun 2019 ini kembali tidak ikut dalam penilaian Adipura. Salah satu alasan absennya Pemkot Manado karena penilaian yang dilakukan Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup (KLH) belum diubah, karena masih menjadikan Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Sampah sebagai penilaian utama.
“Kota Manado dalam pengelolaan TPA masih menggunakan sistem open dumping. Syarat yang sekarang diberlakukan tidak boleh lagi memakai sistem itu. Harus diubah jadi sistem sanitary landfill. Syarat yang cukup berat untuk bisa meraih penghargaan Piala Adipura,” ujar Plt Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kota Manado, Drs Sonny Rompas, Rabu (16/01/2019).
Dikatakan pejabat yang belum lama dilantik sebagai Plt Kadis DLH ini, setahu dia Pemkot Manado sudah menyiapkan perubahan sistem pengelolaan sampah sejak lima tahun lalu. hanya saja rencana tersebut dialihkan karena Kota Manado terkena bencana banjir besar pada awal tahun 2014 silam.
“Sebenarnya rencana itu sudah dilakukan lima tahun lalu tapi pada 2014 kami kena musibah banjir jadi ditunda dulu. Rencananya, tahun ini sudah berjalan,” ungkapnya.
Dikatakannya, TPA Sumompo sudah seharusnya diubah menjadi sistem pemusnahan sesuai intruksi pemerintah pusat yakni pakai sistem sanitary landfill. Namun pemerintah daerah harus menyiapkan anggaran khusus untuk perubahan tersebut.
“Dibandingkan saat Manado terima Adipura, justru beberapa tahun ini Manado lebih bersih. Itu karena kebersihan sudah ditangani di tiap lingkungan,” tukasnya.(DONWU)
